EBAY.FR SALE PROCESS
- The sale will take place on the eBay.fr website. To participate, bidders must be registered on eBay, and accept and respect eBay terms and conditions.
- A total of 380 seats will be put up for auction for the inaugural Paris – New York flight on November 20, 2009, and 380 seats for the inaugural New York – Paris flight on November 21, 2009.
- Auctions for the seats will open in succession on eBay.fr, and will last for varying times (3, 5, 7, or 10 days).
- Each ticket package put up for auction includes:
- a departure ticket on one of the inaugural A380 flights: in the Voyageur or Affaires cabin,
- a return ticket on an Air France commercial flight: the return ticket will be booked in the same cabin as the departure ticket and is subject to the availability of the booking code (code N for the Voyageur cabin and code Z for the Affaires cabin),
- an itinerary of cultural activities and shopping in the destination city (Paris or New York).
- The highest bidders residing in metropolitan France (outside of the Ile de France region) may, if necessary, receive free transportation on an Air France flight operating between a local airport and Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport, subject to seat availability.
- The highest bidders not residing in metropolitan France must ensure, at their own expense, transportation from their city of origin to Paris-Charles de Gaulle (for winners on the inaugural, Paris – New York flight), or to New York-JFK (for winners on the inaugural, New York – Paris flight).
- Please note: unaccompanied children as well as passengers traveling with a pet will not be able to travel on the inaugural flight.
- Once the auction has closed, the highest bidder must purchase the ticket through PayPal on eBay. If the purchase is not made within 24 hours, Air France reserves the right to offer the highest bidder a 2nd chance to purchase the ticket, or to put the ticket back up for sale.
PAYMENT/ISSUANCE
Once the purchase has been made, the highest bidder will receive an e-mail containing a form which must be completed and returned to Air France within 24 hours. After this period, Air France reserves the right to give a refund to the highest bidder and put the ticket back up for sale.
- After receiving the properly completed form, Air France will contact the highest bidder in order to book the return flight and issue the electronic round-trip ticket.
- A limited number of return flight seats will be reserved each day for winners. It is therefore possible that certain flights will no longer be available to winners, especially in the days following the inaugural flight.
- Tickets may be reserved under a name other than that of the auction winner/payer, if the winner/payer wishes to give the ticket to a third person. Once the ticket has been issued, however, the name cannot be modified.
- In no case may the tickets be resold.
- Highest bidders who are Flying Blue members will earn Miles. The current scale will be used when calculating the number of Miles earned.
CONDITIONS FOR TICKET CHANGES AND CANCELLATION
- Conditions for ticket changes on the return flight: once a ticket has been issued, only the return date may be changed (subject to availability).
- Conditions for trip cancellation (departure and return flights): the trip may be cancelled only due to or as the result of a force majeure (serious illness, death, etc.). Official documentation will be required. Refunds will be made through PayPal to the credit card or PayPal account used for the original purchase.
